How to make the most of Swagbucks!

I'm sure you have heard of them and have no idea what they are. Or maybe you have signed up, but have yet to earn a single one. It really isn't that hard to start racking them up! I earn Swagbucks for things you do online every day! The first way I earn is by having the tool bar installed. Every day I use my home pc internet I earn 1 Swagbuck for having the tool bar. The next way I earn is the daily poll. Answer one simple question and get 1 Swagbuck. Another simple way is clicking into the trusted surveys. I never qualify for the surveys and don't really try to anymore, but I do go get my 1 Swagbuck just for visiting the page. So whooptydo on those right? No! Just by doing those three nearly effortless things, you earn 1095 Swagbucks over a one year period.

Now I earn MOST of my Swagbuck through SEARCH. I never utilize my favorites tab, and I never type in a URL to whatever you call that bar where you type a website. If I want to go to facebook, I type "facebook" into the Swagbucks search engine. I want to check my mail I type "hotmail" into the search engine. I earn about 40-50 Swagbucks a day doing this. Fridays are supposed to be MegaSwagbucks day where you can earn alot more...the most I have scored in one search on a Friday is 27.....my standard prize on any given search any day of the week is 11.

You can also earn by printing and using coupons from swagbucks.com. For every coupon redeemed you get 10 Swagbucks.....if you use coupons like I do then you know those can add up big time!!! You can also earn bucks by watching videos on the SwagbucksTV.... I just play them and let them run in the background as I do other stuff online. This isn't my favorite way to earn, but it works.

If you qualify for surveys you can earn anywhere from 50-200ish bucks... you can trade in your old cell phones, text books, video games ect for points....

If you love to shop online then you are really missing out!!! Swagbucks offers thisdeal called Shop and Earn. They have a zillion stores, including Walmart, Target, Overstock.com, Fabric.com, Best Buy.... go through Swagbucks and you get 2 Swagbucks for every $1 you spend.

Ahh and the elusive SwagCode!!! These come out 1 to several times a week day. They can be posted on facebook or hidden on the Swagbucks website. I guess they have a blog as well where it may be mentioned. SwagCodes are case sensitive, sometimes user unique, and usually range from 3-10 bucks. There was a 50 pointer announced on facebook but I didn't hear about it until after it expired. There is a website that you can sign up to have text you whenever a code is out, but that is cheating and if Swagbucks were to find out that you are using it or promoting it, your account would be deleted.

And the final method I would like to touch on is the Daily Deals. If you love to buy Groupons, LivingSocial, ect...you can earn 450+ Swagbucks just for clicking into the Groupon or whoever website through Swagbucks.

There are lots of things you can cash your Swagbucks in for, but I am an Amazon.com junky.... I have cashed in on nine $5 gift cards to support my cloth diaper habit. So what are you waiting for?? Follow this link and start WINNING today!!!

They also suggested that I return to the store and speak with the manager to get my $4.00 back. I don't know if I will bother with getting my money back, I am simply satisfied with the comfirmation that I am indeed right.

EVIL SAFEWAY WOMAN!!!!!

Sooooo I went to Safeway to score some STEAK!!! New York steak was on sale reg $9.99/lb on sale for $5.99/lb. I bought 3 and had the meat guy pack em seperate so I could use 3 of my $2 off Rancher's Reserve Beef purchase. I also got a sweet deal on Softsoap and Dr Pepper! Anyways I checked out and the price seemed higher than I was expecting.... I was more disappointed than suspicious. When I got home I was looking over the receipt and noticed instead of each meat coupon deducting $2.00 they each deducted $0.01!!! A PENNY!! I drove back to the store with my receipt (not the steaks) and pointed it out to the lady at the customer service desk. We argued for 5 minutes over my damn coupons. She insisted I could only use one per transaction. The fine print clearly says "One item per coupon". That means I can only use one steak per one coupon. It doesn't say anything about limiting coupons per transaction. She told me I would have to check out three seperate times to get my deal and then in some condescending voice says "I know coupons can be hard to understand!" BITCH PLEASE! I know I am right and anyone who knows coupons knows I am right... I could have used 100 of those coupons in one transaction if I had them and 100 steaks!!! GRRRRRRRRRRR!!! Anyways I was hungry so I took the refund for ONE coupon and was on my merry way. So since I AM RIGHT I am going to give you the totals as they SHOULD HAVE BEEN.

New York Strip Steaks
#1 reg $11.99 paid $1.59
#2 reg $10.69 paid $2.87
#3 reg $10.59 paid $2.82

Chex Mix from Winco!!!!

While I was at Winco the other day I noticed Chex Mix was on sale. I LOVE Chex Mix!!! My preferred store is Safeway and they sell the stuff for $2.99. Winco had it on sale for $1.38 and I had 10 $1 off Chex Mix coupons from the Safeway Joy of Football coupon book. I was able to pay just $0.38 per bag. If I bought them at Safeway I would have paid $29.90 before savings. In the end I paid $3.80 which is a savings of $26.10 or 87%!!! My cashier shouted "Whoooo!!! Those are some good coupons!!!"

Sleep Couponing

Not much activity in the coupon world for me the last few days. I did go out in an attempt to get several items from a few different stores but I was so sleep deprived and had my two little ones with me... didn't work out like I had planned. I was hoping to get free cookie dough at Winco, but unfortunately prices vary from store to store, so no free dough at mine. I also went there for $0.38 Jimmy Dean Sausage but ran into the same problem as with the cookie dough. I left Winco empty handed and headed to Safeway. Got 10 bags of Goldfish Crackers for $0.88 each, some good sized frozen pizzas for $1.50, and four $0.17 liters of soda. Then I went off to Wally World and got more free dental floss, a couple more boxes of the $0.87 fabric softener and a nice razor for my honey. Final destination was Target. I got a free Rimmel mascara and a free Rimmel eye shadow. I also got two 4-pks of GE Reveal light bulbs for $0.04 each, French's brown mustard for $0.39 each, a few bags of Huggies diapers for around $5 each and a free bag of Huggies wipes.  Not too sure what is up next... the end of the month is approaching and I am excited to announce how much money I have saved this month :)

Signs of an addict....

Well they say denial is a sign, but I definately don't have that! I am fully aware I am becoming more and more addicted to coupons each day. I look at my stockpile in the making and I feel happy inside. When I have finished clipping all of my coupons and there are no more to be cut, I feel sad. When I see my husband touching my coupons I feel very anxious and want nothing more than for him to step away. I buy my Sunday papers on Saturday and can't wait for the mail on Tuesday because thats where the Albertson's ad is and DOUBLE COUPONS! I think about coupons while I am laying in bed at night and I don't want to buy anything unless its on sale AND I have a coupon! I don't go out and do things or craft, so I guess this is my hobby :)

Frustrating trip to Walgreen's

My main purpose of going to Walgreen's today was to get free Bic Triumph pens ($5.39 each) and free Reach Toothbrushes ($.499 each). I went to the pens first and got the 4 they had left, though I had enough coupons for 5. As I was leaving that aisle another couponer came in behind me with her binder in hand... I'm sure she was looking for the pens and she gave me a little glare LOL. Next was the toothbrushes. Turns out those were not going to be free, but more like $1.00 each. I still picked up 6 of those. Then I had a coupon for a free mega box of huggies ($18), but they didn't have them in stock. So after I gathered everything I wanted and got to the check out stand... the only clerk was some little old woman who had reached the last 15 minutes of her shift (she told me) and I don't think she was very happy to see my stack of coupons. My coupons for 25cent boxes of band aids were not working so I just had her remove them from my bag. Next a coupon for Infants Trimenic did not work. She said it was for another store, however it was a peel off from inside Walgreen's. Whatever I had her take that out of my bag too. One of my coupons for dental floss and one for Listerine also did not work. So in the end, after standing at the check out for about 15 minutes, my total out of pocket was $54.35. Total savings from coupons was $57.50. I didn't do as well as I had hoped. If those damn coupons would have worked, and had huggies been in stock, it would have been much more satisfying. So what I got was 2 12packs of Scott toilet paper, 3 boxes of Kleenex, 4 bottles of dish soap, 2 packs of dental floss, 6 reach toothbrushes, 1 bottle of Listerine, 3 packs of Duracel batteries, 1 box of Visine, and 3 2packs of Bic Triumph Roller pens. I will probably hit up another Walgreen's for more pens.

I got my coupon binder set up!!

I went and got a nice binder, 130 pocket pages, dividers ect... I spent the evening cutting coupons from 5 sunday papers and got them all organized. I didn't realize how much work it would be and now I'm planning a trip to Walgreen's for tomorrow. Free stuff is in order!!! I did get excited over milk coupons only to realize after I clipped them that they were for lactose free milk :(

Happy New Year!!!!

My New Year's Resolution for 2011 is to save money by clipping coupons. My inspiration comes from watching TLC's Extreme Couponing and I hope I can get as good as the people profiled on the show. My first real venture out I got 8 boxes of cereal, 10 boxes of fruit snacks, 2 boxes granola bars, 4 boxes of pizza rolls, 5 boxes of frozen pizzas and 2 boxes of Toaster Strudels. Total before savings $85.86, total paid $34.84, plus I got a coupon for $3.00 off my next order! I just got 5 copies of the Sunday paper, so off to clip I go!!!
